"Resident Evil: Afterlife" is the fourth instalment of the "Resident Evil" franchise, and is, once again, based on the very famous video game series. The new thing this time? The magic of 3D!

The Undead are back! A new virus infection hits the world and Alice (Milla Jovovich) tries to find survivors to lead them to safety. In her never-ending battle against the Umbrella Corporation, she meets an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the dangers lurking ahead takes them to Los Angeles. When they arrive in the city of angels, they find it overrun by thousands of Undead. They are all converging towards a building that shelters survivors. Will Alice and her new friends find a way out?

What is the first name that comes to mind when thinking of the "Resident Evil" series? Milla Jovovich, of course! Once again, she is the one who carries the entire movie on her shoulders. After all, what would we do without her low and whispering voice and very intense eyes? They are trademarks of the series. The chemistry between the actors is pretty good. In particular, Ali Larter ("Final Destination 1" and "Final Destination 2") and Wentworth Miller ("Prison Break") provide a decent effort.

Fans of the "Resident Evil" series will like this movie. You can expect the usual two hours of jam-packed action and Undead-killing spree with some jump-in-your-seat moments. The use of 3D technology is definitely a great addition, giving the scenes a more realistic look – especially when shown in slow motion. Overall, "Resident Evil: Afterlife" is predictable but still enjoyable.

"Resident Evil: Afterlife" a movie written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. Cast: Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe, Wentworth Miller, Sienna Guillory. Rated R for sequences of strong violence and language.
