A note from this Examiner: From his unpublished autobiography, "The Arms of Christ," Reverend Stephen Brown, explains his incredible journey in life and in near death. Through my increasing friendship with Reverend Steve, his words are more powerful and sincere than anyone I have met in my life. Although, these articles are taken from our correspondence and from his book, his words will not be changed in honor of this amazing man, the Reverend Steve Brown (also known by his pen name for many of his books, Charles Benjamin Steele.)
Reverend Brown continues, "People have asked me for a bio on the life that I have led. The most descriptive, heartfelt history that I have is withdrawn from the book that I am currently working on, "All God’s Angels, Good and Bad." This has been a life of blessings and curses, of angels and dragons, and most importantly Jesus…sweet Jesus.
"I should have died at birth, but I obviously did not, although throughout my life I have been revived three times that I am aware of. There may have been other times on those occasions when I was unconscious or battling with Satan during my sleeping hours.
"This is my story…the story of my past, my present and hopefully my future. This is a true story of the angels that I have seen, and at times touched, and even spoken to. God has worked mightily in my life, though I am a sinner. He has been there through my Heaven and my Hell here on earth, and I have lived to tell about it. Satan has tried earnestly to kill me many times, and has nearly succeeded; but God sent His angels to rescue me. He has dispatched His angels since my birth, and continues to even today, but it took many years before I realized this. I hope this book will help you to realize how important you are to God, and perhaps you might also become blessed to have your eyes opened to see the angels in your life!
"My given name is Steven C. Brown. I was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on September 19, 1950. I graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1968. I was ordained in 1996 and received my Doctor of Divinity in 1998. My literary pen name is Charles Benjamin Steele. This nom de plume was developed with my children’s names in mind as well as my sweet Savior, Christ; my given name, and also out of respect for the hordes of other men named Steve Brown who wish to be successful with their books. Book shelves are replete with books authored by men who share my given name.
"I have been blessed to have 19 volumes of prose and poetry and an action-suspense novel published through an Amazon company and distributed by Amazon.com as well as other international distributors. You can directly link to my personal Author’s Page on Amazon.com, on my personal website: www.charlesbenjaminsteele.com or search for the name: “Charles Benjamin Steele” on your favorite search engine. I also plan to publish several Bible studies and commentaries as time allows for their proper editing and in God’s timing and with His blessing.
"May God bless you and be with you and cause His light to shine upon you. Enjoy." CBS
