Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band in Boise

Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band really isn’t all that BIG. Ordained Minister, Kentucky Colonel and Wild Man Virtuoso, Reverend Peyton fronts the group with his National Guitar. His wife, the lovely and truly insane, Washboard Breezy (plays washboard, of course) and Aaron “CUZ” Persinger keeps the beat on kick drum and snare. Together these three pound out a “raucous sound” that any 5 piece band would kill to have. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band played over 250 shows in the U.S., Canada and Europe in 2009. They will play the “Van’s Warped Tour” for their second year in a row this summer. There sound has been called everything from High Energy Blues to Punk Country. Whatever you call it, it makes you want to get up and dance. I saw them in the little town of Miles City, Montana back in August of last year. Performing in front of a crowd of less than 150 people they transformed that downtown street into an outdoor honky tonk. People were literally “dancin’ in the streets”. When I saw them in Miles City it set me back $15, so the $8 ticket price for the Boise show is a steal. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has a new CD out called “The Whole Fam Damnily”. My favorite cut is “Wal-mart killed the country store” but the whole CD is great. Catch The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Wednesday January 13th at Neurolux  111 North 11th Street, Downtown Boise. Ticket cost $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. Trust me, you gotta go, you will not be disappointed.
