“Revenge” ended season 3 with a huge life changing twist in May when the writers decided to shock fans to their core by bringing back David Clarke. For 3 seasons viewers have watched Emily Thorne, played by Emily VanCamp, try to seek “Revenge” on those who played a part in her father’s conviction and death. Now that he has returned, E!Online reported on Tuesday some major changes are on the way!
Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, both executive producers for the show, shed some information on why they decided to bring David back to the Hamptons. They said the show was reaching a point where it wasn’t going to work anymore to continue on the current path. They said they wanted to “make a big, big splash” and that they did!
Harberts went on to say the arrival of David will give Emily’s story new meaning. Fans saw her finally get her “Revenge” on Victoria, played by Madeleine Stowe, at the end of season 3 when she had her committed to a mental facility. Having her father return will “rock Emily’s world” and make her figure out who she is as Amanda Clarke. How will she feel about the actions she’s taken after discovering her father is alive? Does he already know what she has been up to and how will he feel about what she has done?
Victoria will also be impacted by David’s return from the grave. Harberts said that should Victoria reach David before Emily does that perhaps she could use it to her advantage to gain some control of the situation. Berg said that the two women would have a “fun race to David.”
ABC announced Tuesday that season 4 of the hit drama “Revenge” will premiere on Sunday, September 28. The first episode will be titled “Resurrection.” This title seems fitting under the circumstances! Filming for season 4 also began yesterday. Emily VanCamp took to her Twitter to announce that day one was complete. She said, “And we're back! Day one of #Revenge season 4 complete #Nolem in a Bentley. #Onlyinthehamptons.” Get ready “Revenge” fans, season 4 sounds like it will be a roller coaster ride of twists and turns!
