Recently there have been reports of new characters being added to "Revenge" season 4. It looks like viewers are going to see yet another new character. On Aug. 15, TV Line reported that the show has cast a star from "The Simpsons" to play a mental patient.
On the season 3 finale of "Revenge," Victoria Grayson was admitted to the psychiatric ward thanks to Emily Thorne. Based on previous spoiler reports, it is a safe assumption that she will get out of the hospital at some point. Nobody is sure if she will be free at the beginning, middle of end of season 4. No matter when she is released, fans must have guessed that at least one other mental patient would be introduced and they were right.
Yeardley Smith, who has been the voice of Lisa on "The Simpsons" for decades, has been cast as Phyllis. The new character is a patient at the same institution as Victoria. Now the question is how will Phyllis be intertwined into the storyline? Is she Victoria's roommate? Someone who ends up helping her escape, convince the doctors she is better or perhaps will help Victoria get revenge? The possibilities are endless.
Even though Yeardley is best known as Lisa Simpson's voice, she has done other gigs. She played Margaret in "Hot in Cleveland" and Sandy in "The Big Bang Theory." Other credits to her name include "The Wishing Well", "Mad Men", "Waiting for Ophelia", "Strong Medicine" and "Dead Like Me."
Other recent additions to the cast of "Revenge" season 4 include Elena Satine. She will play Louise Ellis, the black sheep of a wealthy Southern family. She is described as being a bit unhinged, but is a "burst of life" that will be brought into the Grayson world. Brian Hallisay will be joining the the show as Ben. He is a police officer and is Jack's new friend. Also, James Tupper has been promoted to series regular. He plays Emily's father, David Clarke.
What do you think Yeardley Smith's storyline will be? Fans will find out when ABC's "Revenge" season 4 begins airing on Sept. 28.
