We’ve all known Emily would be shot on the night of her wedding to Daniel Grayson but when the winter finale of season 3 of “Revenge” aired on Sunday, Dec. 15, the big questions was who did the shooting? The identity of Emily’s shooter was revealed and you should stop reading here if you haven’t watched “Exodus” and don’t want the spoiler.
Earlier in the day, Emily has blood drawn which will be used to stage the scene of her death later that night and to help frame Victoria Grayson. The problem is Victoria has announced she won’t attend the wedding. Emily convinces Conrad the reason for Victoria’s stance has to do with Patrick so Conrad has him brought back for the occasion and barters with Victoria – Patrick can stay if she agrees to attend all the wedding functions.
Conrad has found Lydia’s diary and believing she plans to take him down, gives her the boot but not before she snatches that incriminating photo of Emily.
Emily, Aidan and Nolan double check their plans for the wedding/murder plan, then Emily visits Jack to say goodbye. She tells him about being with Amanda as she died and how Amanda’s last request was from Emily to look after Jack and Carl. Jack hasn’t forgiven Emily, though, and blames her for everything he has lost.
Other romantic relationships aren’t faring very well. Patrick rejects Nolan’s advances because he believes his mom needs him right now. Daniel runs into Sara hours before the weeding and neither can deny the feelings they have for each other.
As Emily dresses for the wedding, Aiden gives her a garter belt with an emergency beacon in case anything goes wrong. He then leaves to prepare his part of the take down plan and Emily is escorted by Nolan down the aisle.
Following the wedding, everyone is at the reception. Nolan dances with Emily, knowing it will be the last time he ever sees her. Daniel tries to call Sarah from the reception but before he can leave a message, he is summoned away to cut the cake. He spends the evening overindulging, trying to numb the pain he feels.
Sara and Jack are at the Crow’s Nest having a drink. Sara admits she fell in love with Daniel again and feels stupid. She tells him that Daniel called her from the wedding reception. Jack discovers Emily left him Amanda’s pendant. Meanwhile, Nolan uses his knowledge that Patrick was behind the attempt on Conrad’s life to lure Patrick away from Victoria’s side. Patrick spends the night with Nolan and Victoria is unencumbered, the prime target of Emily’s plan.
Conrad discovers Lydia really loves him and he brings her aboard the yacht for the honeymoon vacation much to Victoria and Emily’s dismay. Emily begins to carry out her plan by spilling a drink on Victoria which forces her to go to her cabin to clean up. Daniel gets a phone form Sara’s roommate telling him that Sara tried to commit suicide. He’s coming unglued at the seams.
Lydia follows Victoria and shows her the photo of Emily working as a waitress at Grayson party years ago. Knowing she was right about Emily, Victoria confronts her on deck of the yacht. She tosses the bracelet that was going to be used to frame her overboard and gets Emily to admit her pregnancy is a fake. Aiden to the rescue! He chloroforms Victoria and drags her back to her cabin.
Emily turns to find a drunken Daniel, who tells her he heard everything. He grabs the gun Aiden left for Emily to use to fake her own shooting. He points it at Emily who apologizes for the lies. Daniel shoots and Emily goes overboard. Daniel pitches the gun into the sea and heads back inside.
The crew begins yelling “man overboard,” bloodstains and a tatter of Emily’s dress are found on deck and Victoria is missing.
Aiden swims to shore to discover a waiting Jack but no Emily. Her bloodied wedding dress washed up but there’s no sign of Emily and she hasn’t activated the emergency beacon. Jack and Aiden are freaked out – this wasn’t supposed to happen!
