“Revenge” has a way of twisting fate, as it has for Emily Thorne after her careful strategy to take down all who wronged her father is now methodically backfiring. Emily’s long orchestrated plot to take down the Grayson’s hits yet another snag as those rich folks of the Hampton’s have a way of rebounding like human bungee cords.
According to the Huffington Post on Oct. 24, “Control” which will air on Sunday night Oct. 27, has Daniel calling off their pending wedding, but there is no love lost for Emily when it comes to Daniel, or is there? Daniel is just a means to her game, or at least this is what it started out to be.
Emily’s not transparent to the viewers like most of the hero or heroines in a mystery venue. She’s a tough nut to crack when you’re trying to figure out any true feelings she may have. The three men in her life, Daniel, Jack and Aiden have all spent very special moments with her, but just when you think her true soul mate is Jack, she throws a curve ball and you start thinking maybe she does love Daniel after all, or it's really Aiden.
Aiden’s love for Emily is overwhelmingly transparent, and once in a while she’ll drop her guard around him letting the viewer’s get a glimpse of the love she shared with him before he bailed on her years back. Holding a grudge is something Emily does well, so if she were to end up with Aiden in the end, she would have to change drastically.
Whoever she ends up with is most likely the person who shoots her and sends her over the side of the yacht. This is what was shown in the flash-forward at the beginning of the season. It looks like she dies, but how she gets to that point is yet to be revealed.
Nolan, who has become her closest and most trustworthy friend, is trying to pull Emily back in a bit because she is becoming a monster. The true test of wits in this series is between Emily and Victoria Grayson. Victoria claws her way out of every pit she is thrown into so far, like last Sunday’s blackmail plan to take control of the art gallery.
Victoria is so wound up with playing mommy to her latest son to enter the picture that everything and everyone around her seems to be put on the back burner. This might change for Victoria after Nolan’s $20,000 worth of information from the ex-wife of Victoria’s long lost son is shared.
When Conrad called the family meeting last week and he poured out his pills, crushing them on the floor, not a soul was happy to hear he's not sick. He didn’t have the disease that killed his father and his grandfather before that. He was misdiagnosed and he announces he is taking back the keys to the castle.
Emily’s first sentence when Conrad said he is fine was “how do they explain the symptoms?” If Conrad had any inkling that Emily was supplying him with pills to make him mimic this disease, he just got that validated.
That wasn’t the brightest thing for Emily to say, is she falling off her game?
Conrad almost looked happy to see the irritated faces of Daniel, Emily and Victoria when he told them he is going to live. So much for the soul searching and when Conrad crushed those pills, along with them went any chance Emily had at getting him to confess to her father’s demise.
Emily is losing hold of her plan for “Revenge” and she’s about to lose her groom. This is all leading up to the night she gets shot and falls backwards into the ocean off a yacht. Each episode brings Emily closer to that scene. This would seem that another season couldn’t happen, but she could get fished out, patched up and finally come clean about her identity to everyone.
It looks like Charlotte is getting closer to Jack, yes it is because she thinks she is the baby’s aunt and she thinks that Jack was her brother-in-law, but will there be some love interest down the line? How about Nolan and Victoria’s long lost son, will they hookup in this bizarre world of “Revenge?” Where do you see "Revenge" going with Emily?
