The first half of season 3 of “Revenge” opened with a teaser about Emily being shot on her wedding day. Those first ten or so episodes built up to the intense moment when Emily was indeed shot and as fans know now, it was by her brands new husband, Daniel Grayson. On Jan. 24, E! Online shared some insight from the character’s actor, Josh Bowman on the “badder” and “sharper” Daniel yet to come in the second half of the season.

In speaking with E!, Bowman had this to say about learning it was his character that would be behind the shooting:

"I was worried, I was a little worried, I got to admit. But then I hope the audience thinks we executed it well. In a way I'm actually glad that it was me, because if it wasn't, then I probably would be in the same path of that character, so now we've taken it in a different direction, which has made him smarter and a little bit more with it."

In the aftermath of the shooting, we’re seeing a sharper Daniel who is on to Emily’s games. The character has taken a turn that Bowman explains like this, "Obviously since the shooting I've just been getting a little badder and badder, but I don't see it as too bad."

One of the ways Daniel is retaliating is by having Sara around. Bowman liked he change because his character was no longer standing around, waiting on Emily. Now he has a story arc separate from hers.

He also spoke about the news that Olivier Martinez will be joining the cast and expressed hopes that they would get to work together. Martinez will be playing Pascal LeMarchal, Margaux’s father and a media mogul with ties to both Conrad and Victoria.

“Revenge” will return with the midseason premiere on Sunday, March 9 on ABC.
