Emily: “In order to regain control we must sometimes relinquish it. By doing so we believe we are protecting the ones we love - the ones we cannot live without. But the most dangerous truth of all is that control is merely an illusion.”

Emily struggles to keep hold of Daniel. Nolan actually has to step in and give her advice after Daniel says he can’t marry her. It’s always nice to see Nolan and Emily being friendly, especially when their conversations aren’t solely about destroying the Graysons. He says that in a relationship, someone wants to know the truth about their partner. This prompts Emily to be more honest with Daniel than she ever has. The actual story was a lie, but the comment about her pushing people away hardly seems false. During her conversation with Nolan, Emily comes out and says that she can’t stand being with Daniel, sorry shippers! Wait, does anyone actually ship them?
Victoria and Charlotte make quite a pair. They spend the wedding dress fitting gossiping, which is definitely a new facet to their relationship. It’s a little weird that Charlotte sticks up for Emily, considering they are not at all in a happy place. Nevertheless, it is great to see Victoria and Charlotte being friendly. It’s a nice change in allies. This entire show is about alliances, and so typically viewers are used to seeing one person scheme with another, so when the players change a bit, it’s interesting. Of course, Charlotte doesn’t realize that she is helping her mom in her scheme to take down Emily, and at the end of the episode, Victoria is shown to be manipulating Charlotte, so their relationship hasn’t come too far. What did you think of Charlotte and Victoria during this episode?
Here are quick thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. The great mystery of who tried to kill Conrad has been solved! There are a couple of misdirects, naturally. In the end, it turns out that Patrick tried to kill Conrad. Ah, now the question is why. He clearly isn’t acting on Victoria’s orders, but maybe he did this to protect her. Patrick is too much of a mystery to know anything about. His scenes with Nolan have given him some fun to watch scenes, but there is still something unsettling about him. Margo is another character like that. She is a mystery, and she is getting too close to Jack. Hopefully her intentions are true because, let’s face it, Jack could use a break. Her best scene of the night is with Victoria. What are your thoughts and theories on Margo and Patrick?
