‘Revenge’ episode 10 ‘Power’ Emily takes down another target

When “Revenge” went on its winter break, Daniel had just wrested control of Grayson Global from his father and it looked as if Victoria and Emily were about to strike a bargain of their own. Episode 10,”Power” showed us just who is in control when the episode aired Sunday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m.

Helen Crowley of the Initiative met with Daniel and told him to dig deeply into Grayson Global to unearth secrets that could make him far more wealthy and powerful than his father ever imagined.

Meanwhile, Emily meets with Victoria who expresses concern for Daniel. Victoria claims that since Daniel and Emily’s engagement was broken off, Daniel’s behavior has changed. She wants Emily to help steer him back on course. She suggests this is possible because she believes Daniel still loves Emily. Victoria promises to help reunite them if Emily helps her.

Victoria then introduces Emily to Judge Barnes and his wife Patricia. Barnes is the judge who presided over her father’s case. He is up for a political promotion and the Graysons are going to help him. He and his wife are staying with them for a couple of days.

Char and Dec are at the bar and he asks her to distract the Ryan brothers so he can snoop in the storage room. While there, he discovers drugs hidden inside the bags of imported coffee beans. He tells Jack about it. Jack has a friend who is a cop and Jack arranges to have the cop raid the bar and find the drugs, hoping it will get the Ryan boys out of his hair.

Aidan and Emily find out where Daniel is having lunch and stage a dramatic break up for his benefit. Emily later explains to Nolan that the break up is a fake so she can get close to Daniel and the judge. Aidan asks Nolan to let him know if Nolan uncovers anything while digging around Grayson Global.

Marco keeps pestering Nolan. He wants a second chance, invites him out for drinks but Nolan has hard feelings about Marco’s treachery. Besides, he’s involved with Padma.

At dinner that evening, Daniel and Emily get a little on the cozy side. During dinner, she brings up James Palmer who was her college professor and a clerk for the judge, one she believed wrote a letter to the judge trying to exonerate her father. Barnes says justice was well served in the David Clarke case. His wife Patricia heads up Liberty Project, a group that lobbies to free people wrongly convicted. Emily asks if the David Clarke case has ever been suggested to her. She says no, none of her husband’s cases have ever come to her organization.

Aidan meets with Helen Crowley and learns his sister may still be alive. Helen says she will bring him an offer to work together as long as he keeps his mouth shut about their meeting.

The cops show up at the Porter’s bar and send everyone home. After searching the back room, they come up empty. Later that night the cops show up at the boat where Declan and Charlotte are making dinner. They find a gun and the drugs stowed on the boat. As they are about to arrest Dec, Jack steps up and says the boat and its contents are his, not Declan’s. Jack is arrested instead.

At the fund raiser for Liberty Project, Emily notices Patricia has bruises. She shows Patricia the letter. Patricia says Palmer didn’t write it but falls short of admitting that she did herself. Later, Patricia gives a speech and reads the letter to the crowd. She takes off her jacket, exposing serious bruises on her arms. She tells them the verdict in the David Clarke case came from a tainted jury and that her husband should not be given any more power. Conrad speaks to the press and says he and Victoria are shocked to learn about the judge.

Helen calls Daniel and asks about the secrets. She tells him Nolan will lead him to the secrets.

Declan returns to the bar. Nate and Kenny are there. They warn Dec to straighten up or things will get worse. Jack calls Amada and tells her about the arrest.

Daniel shows up at Emily’s while Aidan is in the shower. She steps outside to talk to him. Daniel says he fought to become to CEO so he could set things right with Grayson Global and its charitable foundations. He asks for her help. As he leaves, Emily notices that Victoria is watching. Emily tells Daniel she will help and he kisses her. Aidan sees the kiss from inside the beach house.

Will things heat up between Daniel and Emily? Where will that leave Aidan? Is Aidan’s sister really alive? What will happen to Jack? Check back next week to find out what happens on the next episode of “Revenge.”
