Embrace the winter season and experience a fun, family-friendly day trip when you attend Winter Days at Vermilion River Reservation in Vermilion, Ohio on Saturday, January 25. Vermilion, Ohio is approximately a 48 minute drive from Cleveland.
Winter Days at Vermilion River Reservation Jam-packed with a multitude of fun, seasonal activities for all ages, Winter Days gives visitors the chance to truly celebrate all that a Northeast Ohio winter has to offer.
Among the variety of activities are ice carving demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, live music, face painting, snowshoeing and the viewing of an ice harvesting display as well as ice harvesting demonstrations on the pond (ice conditions permitting).
Other spotlighted activities include hearth-side cooking demonstrations in Carriage Barn, a meet and greet with sled dogs and sled dog demonstrations and new this year, the chance to see live reindeer and learn about the habitats where these interesting creatures live in the wild.
Also new this year, historical re-enactors will be in the Benjamin Bacon House where they will be providing hands-on, interactive demonstrations about pioneer life during the winter season.
Visitors will be able to purchase cookies and hot beverages from the Friends of the Metro Parks as well as other food from food vendors.
Hours for Winter Days are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is free though there is a $1 charge per person for the horse-drawn carriage rides. Children 42 inches and under are free.
