Deep Silver has been touting the blistering soundtrack of off-road racer nail'd for months, and today the publisher has finally revealed the star-powered heavy metal supergroup handling the game's original anthems.
So who are they? Well known names from the modern Metal scene, including Raymond Herrera and Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory, Arkaea), Pat Lachman (Damageplan), Wayne Static (Static X), Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed), Stephen Carpenter (Deftones), Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad), and John Boecklin (DevilDriver),
The musicians came together to set the game's intense racing vibe to music with both instrumentals and 3 dedicated songs written exclusively for nail'd: "Count for Something", "Through Walls of Flame" (sung by Jamey Jasta), and "Decimator" (vocals by Wayne Static). All lyrics were written specially for the game.
“nail’d’s very existence is defined by the act of giving a giant middle finger to the laws of physics and boring realism,” said Deep Silver’s Jon Schutts, while practicing power chords on a guitar made of human souls. “When you’ve got a game like nail’d where you take every edge of your seat moment you’ve ever experienced and cranked it up to eleven, you need a killer soundtrack. We got the best musicians out there to help define the sound of nail’d and they literally blew us away.”
In addition, licensed tracks from Slipknot, Queens of the Stone Age, Backyard Babies, Rise Against, American Sixgun, Aggressive Chill, and Slaves on Dope round out the decidedly hard-edged soundtrack.
For those of you "PURE"ists looking for something new, nail'd drops onto PS3 and 360 later this year.
