The holidays are almost over. Some people may already be taking down Christmas trees and the menorah was put away a while ago. It is always nice to hear from relatives and friends when they send Christmas cards and holiday newsletters. The question of what to do with them after the holidays is always tricky though. Care and thought was put into them so it seems a shame to just throw them away. It's also a lot of waste to put into landfills. Reuse or recycle those cards and put them to good use.
Ideas crafts you can make with your holiday cards:
- Gift card tags
- Napkin rings
- Buntings and banner signs
- Recipe cards
- Book marks
- Origami art
- Better Homes and Garden has fun craft ideas, too.
There are places you can also donate cards to be used in arts and crafts programs:
- Your church or place of worship's children's program
- St. Jude's Children's Ranches
- Girl Scout or Boy Scouts
As with any donation, always call before hand to make sure the recipient can use your donation.
