On Saturday April 30th, the third annual FOPcon will be held at the FOP Captain John C. Post Lodge 44 in Huber Heights. This chapter of the FOP hosts this growing gaming convention every year. This year’s theme is Return to the scene of the Con.
Gaming events for the day will include board games, miniature games, role-playing games, and collectible card games. Board games will range from easy to highly complex and there will be limited rules explanation so finding a game that you are familiar with is recommended. There will be a member Game-Day on hand to teach the games on a first come first serve basis however. Those interested in the Role-playing games can choose from RPGA and Pathfinder games. The RPGs do have age minimums for some of the games but none who have to be older than 16 to play.
Miniature games will consist mostly of Civil War and Kaiju Kaos games. Again there are age limits for the games and duration limits for game play. Unfortunately at this time there is no schedule for the collectible card games. Check back at the site or the day of the gaming convention for the actual schedule.
Those waiting for a game to start can find cool things to do at FOPcon. Reaper Miniatures will have a table for people to paint a free mini at. You can also learn to weave maille from Genesis Maille. There is an additional fee for the maille weaving and classes are limited to 4 people each. There might be other specials going on with sponsors Bell, Book, & Comic, Fat Dragon Games, and Game-Day in attendance.
All this gaming fun is only $5 too.
