HGTV will premiere a one-hour network TV special entitled “Retro Roadhomes: RVs Gone Crazy” (HRVGC-S12H) today (Friday, Jan. 11, 2013) at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST and will rebroadcast the show at 12 a.m. EST/PST. The program takes a look at a variety of vintage motor homes and classic travel trailers and the eclectic group of owners who call them home.
Sadly, the HGTV network did not release any substantive information about the show’s lineup prior to the broadcast. However, the RVing Examiner can reveal exclusively that the show will feature a customized vintage Airstream -- refitted by Santa Barbara-based architect Matthew Hofmann and his dad, Wally, of “HofArc” (Hofmann Architecture) -- as well as a Romany-style travel trailer owned by Sevierville, TN-based "Sisters on the Fly" member, Sharon Lambert.
“Retro Roadhomes: RVs Gone Crazy” was produced by Knoxville, TN- based Lusid Media and the neat animated video graphics for the show created by “Elevation,” an Atlanta, GA-based full service motion design studio.
