Richard B. Sanders served as a justice on the Washington Supreme Court from 1995 to 2010. Now, he is helping a plaintiff who is questioning Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president of the United States.
In a Feb. 3 statement to BirtherReport.com, Mr. Sanders said:
In good faith [Linda] Jordan commenced an action to question President Obama’s name on the ballot. She did the best she could with limited resources and no legal training. The government’s response was immediate and in some respects heavy handed. Having obtained a summary dismissal of her case, and then her appeal, the attorney general went further to demand the Secretary of State be reimbursed, claiming attorney fees amounting to almost $13,000.
Ms. Jordan alleges that Obama used fake documents in order to run for political office and should have been ineligible for the ballot in Washington State during the 2008 and 2012 campaigns. However, she was slapped with a hefty $13,000 fine for filing the case in state court.
Sanders is looking to eliminate the fine which he views as a heavy-handed punishment for a concerned private citizen who is only looking to uncover the truth about the president's eligibility.
The [Attorney General] did not disclose the actual amount to the court probably because the objective is to get a punitive judgment for as much as he can without regard to actual expenditures which were much less.
After retiring from the Washington State Supreme Court in 2010, Sanders joined the Goodstein Law Group which is based in Tacoma. He is one of the most prominent figures to help the cause of birthers who have long been shunned by the mainstream media as right wing conspiracy theorists.
In Sanders' view, the $13,000 fine was not a compensatory request by the state's attorney general for reasonable costs, but rather a punitive retaliation for bringing up an Obama birther case in the state's judicial system.
My motion to modify and reduce the court clerk’s award of almost $13,000 will attempt to direct the court’s attention to the truth of the matter: that once again the government is hiding the ball to oppress a patriotic private citizen of modest means because she exercised her right to access the courts. This is not compensatory but punitive. It is not justice but oppression. Moreover $13,000 is truly an outlandish sum to obtain dismissal of an appeal the AG claimed was entirely lacking in merit. No wonder people mistrust the government, lawyers and the court system. It’s time to fight.
There appears to be a large amount of circumstantial evidence that supports Linda Jordan's claim. Here is a partial list:
- Barack Obama's birth certificate was found to have been a poorly manufactured forgery by a team of forensic experts led by Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio
- Grade school registration in Indonesia allegedly says that Obama is an Indonesian citizen.
- Wedding ring allegedly bears the inscription "There is no God but Allah".
- Official Facebook page contains a doctored photo of Ann Dunham, Obama's Caucasian mother, who has a right hand of a black man.
- Social security number allegedly cannot pass the government's E-verify system.
Last week, Obama received a notice of default in a California court for his lack of response to a birther case. The plaintiff, Dr. Orly Taitz, is seeking a default judgment against the sitting U.S. president.
