This is the day that all "Twihards" have been begging for. The highly anticipated midnight release (and conclusion) to the ever popular Twilight Saga. Walmart and Target are just are just a few of the retailers across the metroplex that will be hosting a midnight release for the DVD and Blu-ray editions. If a Friday night sounds like an odd release date for a new movie title - it is. Most films that newly release onto DVD/Blu-ray formats are released on Tuesdays while new movie releases in Theaters have an opening day of Friday's on average; unless the film is highly popular; then expect an early theater release on Thursdays at midnight.
Due to how popular the Twilight franchise has shown to be, a weekend release was chosen so that retailers could hold Midnight release parties, and giveaways throughout the weekend.
