The retail version of “Wii Fit U” will be available in stores on January 10, Nintendo said today in a press release obtained by Examiner.

The game will come pre-packaged with the Wi Balance Board accessory and new Wii Fit Meter – a new device that calculates your calories burned and steps taken- for $89.99. If you already own the balance board from other fitness games such as “Wii Fit” and “Wii Fit Plus,” you can buy the meter and game for $49.99.

Wii Fit U makes fitness fun. It’s as simple as that,” Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing said in today’s press release. “Wii Fit U is a great option for busy moms and families who want to stay active in the comfort of their own homes – which is perfect during the cold winter months.”
