M-commerce is steadily on the rise and facebook is set to lead the way sparking new deals which gives merchants the ability to offer deals via its social network. With smart phone users on the rise companies are offering deals enticing users with location-based apps. This feature allows users to broadcast their locations by using what's called "a check in feature". According to facebook guru Mark Zuckerberg who stated "that people have their phones with them at all times and most apps for mobiles devices too often fail to adequately integrate social networking features". Facebook now has a new feature that will allow its service to integrate with other company’s apps in hopes of pushing the development for new generation apps.
The flip side of this service are the concerns in the grey area regarding privacy issues facebook states "that these new mobile features would not change their current privacy policies that are currently in place and they will continue diligently to earn users trust to ensure comfortability with privacy concerns". Facebook is said to have already got a line up of major retailers which include Macy’s, American Eagle outfitters and the Gap. Among others web companies expanding its mobile device business include goggle and yahoo. Even with the rumors of facebook secretly developing its own mobile phone Mark Zuckerberg continously states, “Our goal is not to sell anything physical".
