Results of NCAA investigation into Saint Mary's to be released

The NCAA Committee on Infractions will release the findings in the investigation into the Saint Mary's men's basketball program in a Friday morning teleconference, the NCAA said today.

Saint Mary's has been under investigation for two years into possible violations in the recruiting of players from Australia and, according to reports from October, former assistant coach David Patrick is a critical part to the investigation.

Patrick was a critical part of the recruitment of a number of Australian players, including Patty Mills. Patrick now works for LSU as an assistant coach.

ESPN reported that Saint Mary's had its meeting with the committee in mid-December.

Since Randy Bennett took over as head coach in 2002, the Gaels have had 11 players from Australia, including notable players Mills and Matthew Dellavedova.

Saint Mary's reached the 25-win plateau for the sixth consecutive season with its win over Pepperdine on Wednesday.
