The 2012 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) was held at Walt Disney World Resort Feb. 11-12, 2012.
During the annual UCA NHSCC, now in its 18th year at Disney, high school and junior high athletes features several cheer events. Teams compete in divisions appropriate for both age and size, performing in front of large crowds of peers, spectators and judges. Winners receive medals, a trophy and NHSCC satin jackets.
The Varsity cheer event takes place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, with some of Saturday’s events held at the Indiana Jones Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was held in conjuction with the 2012 ICU World School Cheerleading Championship.

Varsity’s UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship was established in 1980. It is considered the highlight of the competition season, which offers more than 80 events during fall and spring.
Cheer and Dance events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex offer a youth-friendly locale for the teams and their families, many of whom also visit the Disney World theme parks during their trip. The sports complex also enables for the competition to be televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide, as well as to offer live streams of the event.
