The first ICU World School Cheerleading Championship took place this year. The cheer event was held Feb. 11-12 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, located at the Walt Disney World Resort.
At the ICU World School Cheerleading Championship, middle and high school teams from around the world compete at the event. The competition is held in conjunction with the 2012 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC). Teams compete in divisions appropriate for both age and size, with gold, silver and bronze medals awarded.
The Varsity cheer competition takes place primarily at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Results for 2012 UCA High-School Nationals follow, with the top three teams named in each division (when three or more finalists have been named in a division). Visit the 2012 UCA NHSCC page for full rankings in the various World School Championship divisions.

Results are listed for teams winning gold, silver and bronze (from first to third, and if three finalists were named).
Junior Cheer
- Junior School: Live Oak, Houston and Pikeville
- Junior Rec: Hanson Youth Cheerleading
Varsity Cheer
- Small Varsity Team Cheer: Perry County Central and Shaler Area
- Medium Varsity Team Cheer: North Laural, Germantown and Zheng Zhou No 102 Middle School (China)
- Large Varsity Team Cheer: Houston, Paul Laurence Dunbar and Barnegat
- Super Varsity Team Cheer: United, Tulsa Union and Rio Rancho
- Small Coed Team Cheer: Lehman, Marbury, Kentwood
- Large Coed Team Cheer: Davie County, Blue Springs and Tulsa Memorial
Partner Stunt
- Girl ‘4’ Partner Stunt: Live Oak, Mater Salvatoris Catholic School (Puerto Rico) and Cardinal Newman (Canada)
- Coed Partner Stunt: Sun Prairie High School
The 2012 World School Cheerleading Championship also recognized the following teams for the Nations Cup:
- China (An Hui Tak No 2 Middle School - Large Coed Team Cheer),
- Puerto Rico (Mater Salvatoris Catholic School - Girls 4 Partner Stunt),
- Canada (Cardinal Newman Secondary School - Super Varsity) and
- U.S.A. (Houston High School - Large Varsity)
The International Cheer Union (ICU) offers global competition for both the World School Cheerleading Championship and the World University Cheerleading Championship. The latter event is held in conjunction with the United States College Cheerleading National Championship.
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort hosts many youth sports events throughout the year, including several Varsity cheer and dance events and the Pop Warner teams.
