While Paula Deen has been spending a countless number of hours working to rebuild her image, a story recently broke that could potentially prove to be a major setback for the much maligned star. According to an April 3 story by TMZ, Deen’s restaurant, Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House, recently closed in a truly shocking and disgraceful way.
Interestingly, this is the restaurant that started Paula Deen’s fall from grace. It was during a lawsuit with the general manager of Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House that it was learned that Paula Deen used racist language. Once this information become known, her fall from stardom was relatively swift, and she has been working to rebuild her image ever since. Noticeably, she has had minimal success.
It is reported that no notice was given to employees. In fact, comments from employees on the company's Facebook page complain that despite years of service no warning was given before the facility was closed. In fact, one employee claims to have been contacted the night before the close for the schedule for the next week. Sadly, this is relatively common way of closing restaurants, and it is a cruel way of laying off workers.
