Happy days are here again—at least that’s the mood Circa 57 is going for. Falling somewhere between Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men, the new 1950s-themed gastro diner and bar encourages patrons to travel back in time via its authentic interior—from the front of a '57 Chevy Bel Air protruding out of the building to vintage juke boxes resting on a black-and-white checkered floor and images of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe adorning the walls.
The retro-inspired accents spill over into the bottles of Green River soda and egg cream served in traditional glassware. The bar also offers classic cocktails and its own At The Hop Extra Pale Ale while the food menu features blue plate specials of comfort food—all prepared by a staff donning 1950s fashion.
For special celebrations and networking events, Circa 57 offers a separate room that can seat 44. Called the '50s House, the private space features a dine-in kitchen with retro appliances and living room with a hi-fi.
Owners Anthony and Kimberly Priola also added other 21st century items, such as flat-panel TVs and state-of-the-art ordering systems, into the otherwise ‘50s decor.
Circa 57 opens on October 17 on 101 W. Cambell Street in Arlington Heights, within walking distance of the Metra station.
