I really appreciate the number of gluten-free options available on their menu, especially the ability to order hot appetizers, which is almost never the case when dining out. I am also thankful that the restaurant understands the serious nature of food intolerance and they use separate utensils and woks when cooking to avoid cross contamination. Additionally, gluten-free dishes are served on special plates with the P.F. Chang’s logo, so there is an extra layer of comfort.
I ordered their new summer dish Vegetable Quinoa “Fried Rice”, which is Wok-toasted quinoa with sunburst squash, mango, tomatoes, and snow peas, topped with a sunny-side egg. My Italian daughter ordered the Ginger Chicken and we shared an order of the Lettuce Wraps.
I enjoyed the Quinoa Fried Rice and it was loaded with vegetables, but I found the quinoa to be a too crunchy for my liking. The Ginger Chicken tasted great and had a nice sauce, but the broccoli served with the dish was rock hard and unappetizing.
We enjoyed the Flourless Chocolate Dome for dessert, which is basically a dome shaped hunk of rich chocolate served with fresh berries and raspberry sauce. The velvety chocolate is strong, so dip it in the raspberry sauce, which cuts that intensity nicely and adds a tangy punch of flavor.
Have you been to P.F. Chang's? What is your favorite gluten-free dish to order off the menu?
