Respawn Entertainment still mulling ‘Titanfall’ beta for Xbox One

As the Titanfall closed alpha testing period comes to a close, Respawn Entertainment left wiggle room regarding a potential beta testing period for the Xbox One exclusive, according to a report today from VG 24/7.

In response to a fan question on Twitter today, Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe said “it’s possible” an open Titanfall beta will emerge before the game’s scheduled release date in March.

The alpha testing for the Xbox One exclusive title kicked off when the developer confirmed emails had been sent to a select few testers on Friday inviting them to participate in the trial of an Electronic Arts next-gen game. You can read that full Examiner report by clicking here.

Respawn had intended for the alpha testing of Titanfall to be “strictly not sharable,” though those with access did post not only videos but also information about the game.

However, the developer responded to criticisms of the game by saying the alpha testing showed only a very raw version of Titanfall and wasn’t representative of what they expect the final version of the game to be..
