Columbus-based Resource Interactive has consistently maintained its reputation as one of the most innovative ad agencies anywhere, and one of the top places to work in Columbus.
Resource was recently named by Advertising Age as one of the nation's A-List Agencies. This honor is a testament to their ability to merge both the creative and technical in producing innovative branding solutions for their clients.
Creative and innovative uses of technology
Some of their most innovative uses of technology for advertising include ColorSnap, an iPhone app for Sherwin-Williams. This app lets the user match paint colors to photographs taken on an iPhone, or saved in their iTunes library.
Their use of Flash is also well-renown. "Try on a Floor", a Flash-based web app developed by Resource for Shaw Floors, allows users to upload their own photographs and swap out various color schemes and flooring types when designing a room upgrade.
"Everything that we uncover in technical discovery gets brought to life creatively in ways that engage customers and help drive business objectives," remarked Resource's Technology Director for Consumer Packaged Goods, Matt Grover.
New initiatives include leveraging the popularity of Facebook and social networking for both e-commerce and brand awareness purposes. Resource is also looking at other mobile devices as additional branding platforms for their client base.
One of Columbus's best places to work
Resource Interactive features a casual but dynamic work environment that makes it one of the best places to work in Columbus. The company's creative side even manifests itself in their open cube-based office layout, where company founder and CEO, Nancy Kramer, uses a similar workspace as a new intern fresh out of school.
Located in the Arena District, with satellite offices in Cincinnati and Palo Alto, the company's over 300 associates enjoy the nurturing and professional growth typical of top organizations. 2009 was the company's most successful year-to-date, and 2010 is promising more of the same.
Future Examiner articles will explore some of Resource's innovative technical solutions in more depth.
