On Tuesday, resort-casual style and the tennis' style influence was on display at the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center in the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne Resort & Spa. An All-Star Charity Tennis event was held to support the First Serve Miami organization which helps economic and socially challenged youths learn the sport. The Williams sisters' played along with the No. 2 ranked player in the world, Novak Djokovic together with other professionals in the tennis world. Tennis players' apparel is prepared for long hours under the sun competing and sweating so there are the traditional polo shirts in white but bright colors and designs are used also (neon yellows, greens, oranges) in crew neck tee shirts. The fabric is always dri-fit, which protects the player through spreading the sweat all around their body and/or providing SPF protection from the sun.
This type of wear can also be used on the beach and around town in the year-round sunny weather in South Florida. Along with dri-fit shirts and shorts, other casual wardrobe pieces that were on display at the event were white slacks with a light, breathable fabric and linen, patterned shirts. Resort-casual style not only can be displayed in wardrobe choices but in one's attitude and approach to being in a tropical climate. For example, many ardent amateur tennis players competed in a professional-amateur round robin tournament before the celebrity tennis match. Tennis is a wonderful sport that can be played year-round in South Florida. The location along the coast in the beautiful village of Key Biscayne also is another influential factor on one's style because people can adopt a practice of stopping to feel the sun's rays and participate in hobbies such as boating, fishing, swimming and sitting in parks to read. Although the busy work week keeps most residents in their cars, unable and most of the time unwilling to be in the warm weather, it is a special quality that factors into every man's wardrobe selection and activities which should be embraced.
