Resort 2013: Fendi (Photos)

The Fendi Resort 2013 showing is inundated with delicate tailoring that places an emphasis on fine detail. The cuts are clean and sleek, the details are modish, perky and feminine with a theme that seemingly centers on a by gone era of the dainty housewife who is both stylish and domestic.

The collection opens up with a pastel yellow matching separates trench coat top and skirt with split then drifts off to 70’s inspired modish designs that include a pastel yellow and navy blue color blocked spaghetti strapped dress, shirt dresses with belted tie ribbons--all styled with 70’s vintage inspired platforms.

Some of the dresses in the collection were reminiscent of aprons that 60s/70s TV moms wore in both the style and finish, as if they were designed with Mrs. Joan Cleaver in mind. Then there were the looser 70’s style fitting jumpsuits that Mrs. Cleaver would perhaps wear on a night out on the town with her husband.

Highlights for the collection include a fringe detail skirt dress, Kimono styled jumpsuit with belted ribbon. 2Jours Vitello Elite tote bags in a host of colors, and a fuchsia pink, white and grey fur jacket with animated details. The Fendi Resort 2013 showing showcased a woman who is about her fashion just as she is about her business in a heavily drawn vintage kind of way.
