The Resort 2013 showing for Erdem is an opulent display of floral tapestry in the form of ready to wear. The designs read like a bouquet of flowers risen to full bloom at the height of the Spring season, colors were abound on jersey dresses, matching suit separates, shoes, cardigans and sweaters.
The theme of floral prints is what defined the collection. Although floral prints and the Spring are often linked to the point of being clichéd , with Erdem, the floral prints gets a boost-- a renaissance artisan pick me up if you will-- the expressions are artistic and the designs dramatic.
High volumes of blue stamped throughout the collection; azure, Prussian blue, international Klein blue, sapphire, ultramarine immersed with pink, purple and burgundy--a beautiful display of color clashing made to look delicate and simple.
Highlights for the collections include a lacquered paisley lace dress, a line skirts with appliqué, a matching separates Quimby Venice swirl-printed suit, and floor length Trina Milan-petal print dresses.
With the Erdem Resort 2013 showing one can’t help but be transported to a world where Resort tastes borders on fine dining along London’s finest quarters--Buckingham palace or perhaps Kensington Palace Gardens--the point being the clothes are that rich and that royal.
