The Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2013 showing is a nexus of structure, color and relaxed chic. Dynamic prints overlapped the decorous, form fitting, and at times loose lines for the collection. Bold patterns carefully mixed in with a wind up of assorted colors meshed together dominated the collection.
The theme befitting of relaxed chic tied in with the structured lines consisting of tuxedo blazers, matching separates, cropped trousers, pleated skirts, and ruffled dresses and tops. Topped off with oh so cool shades, pompadour hair, color blocked accessories and strappy heels.
What was most interesting and refreshing about the collection is the mixing of colors that normally would be considered a fashion faux pas. DVF was able to accomplish a rouse of varying colors from the opposite of the color spectrum and give a modern fresh appeal. This is best seen with the mixing of dodger blue with a burnt orange, pastel yellow with azure blue, pale grey with dandelion yellow, and lime green with warm coral.
Standouts from the collection include a graffiti styled shirt-dress, animated matching separates, and vividly hued jackets. The Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2013 collection signaled a woman who is ready to return to spring with a bang rather more understadedly than flamboyantly.
