The Celine Resort 2013 showing exuded an air of Parisian sophistication overflowing with vintage couture. Sharp lined coats and blazers paired with tailored wide leg pants made for an ultra chic presentation. As did the silk twill foulard scarves tied around the neck old Western style, making for a statement of a confident woman who is no fuss no frills, all confidence.
Color blocking was the pattern of choice for this collection; pants suits, leather sheath dresses, wide leg trousers, minimalist coats, clutches, and optic mules all featured color blocking styles. Graphic prints were also heavily used for the collection, including foulard prints, leopard prints, and printed dots in black and white.
Among the highlights for Celine Resort 2013 was the conservative use of accessories and outerwear. Leather minimalist coats in color blocked styles and unsuspecting colors like auburn and royal blue were a pleasant surprise as were the orange and white crepe de chine tops with poppy matelasse stripe cotton high waisted trousers in equally matching colors.
In addition to the oversized pony calf skin clutches that resembled briefcases without the handle, matching separates were another standout. A silk printed set featuring foulard printed gaucho shorts and matching striped print lambskin top and orange printed foulard silk shirt and skirt with a green silk twill foulard scarf rounded off the collection. To surmise, Celine Resort 2013 presented chic Parisian style en masse the only way powerhouse Celine can.
