Resolve to learn with help from the KC library system

With less than 48 hours remaining until 2010 begins, the time has come to make those infamous New Year's resolutions.  Rather than making promises to yourself that will never be kept, consider looking at what the Kansas City Public Library System has to offer to enhance your life in the upcoming year for little or no cost.

Everything from activities for children to book clubs to sewing classes are offered at the various branches of the system.  Looking to spend more time with the kiddos?  Look no further than Story Time for Twos at the Westport Branch.  Interested in reading great books and meeting new people?  The Read 'Em and Weep Book Group would be a great fit.  Even basic sewing classes are offered if the desire is to save money by mending and making one's own clothing.

If getting healthy is on the to-do list for 2010, the library has an opportunity to assist in that endeavor:  the Westport Walking Group offers a chance to walk around the area with library staff and members of the community.  There's no better way to get healthy than with friends and socialization.

For more information, visit the KC Library "Classes" page.

What a neat idea! I think I'll go check out the Denver area libraries and see if they have something similar!

Nice to see that they offer things besides just reading. That would probably draw my interest in a bit more....
