With the start of 2014, many people are setting New Years Resolutions. This year resolve to explore your city's cultural landmarks. The first full weekend of each month is the perfect reminder to put time aside to see a museum. Plus, with Bank of America's Museums on Us, general admission is free.

Saturday, January 4 and Sunday, January 5 is the first Museums on Us of 2014. In the Chicago area, six museums will participate in this promotion. Institutions include

  • Adler Planetarium
  • The Art Institute of Chicago
  • Chicago History Museum
  • Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago
  • Shedd Aquarium
  • Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center

Bank of America's Museum on Us allows its customers to have free access to artistic and cultural experiences throughout the United States. Guests can take advantage of this program in their hometown or in locales farther away. Participating institutions include art, children’s and history museums to aquariums and science centers. A few rules apply to this special offer. Simply present your Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card along with a photo ID to gain free general admission to any participating institution, the first full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of each month. Cardholders only; guests are not eligible for free admission. Program excludes fundraising events, special exhibitions and ticketed shows. Not to be combined with other offers.
