Resolutions 2012

Why not take the kids to an awesome summer trip to San Diego?

Holidays Season has been around for a few weeks now, and we are only days away from entering a whole New Year – exciting!!! I am totally convinced that it is up to oneself to make the best out of each year! And by taking a step further towards organizing one’s thoughts and wishes just a bit, one is most prone to enjoying a year full of accomplishments and good times!

There is a great variety of resolutions that one might be wishing to accomplish in 2012, but before we tour our future, let’s take a moment and think of those resolutions we all had for 2011… Do you still remember them? Have you been able to accomplish all of them? …Half of them? …Just a few of them?

Resolution Tracking Technique

Here’s a great piece of advice I once took from some brilliant mind, always –ALWAYS– write your resolutions down! All you need is a Post-it and a pen and you are good to go. It is a good idea to keep such Post-it in some forgotten compartment of your wallet, and highly recommendable to take a pick at your list half way through the year. You will be pleased to find out that perhaps half of your resolutions have already been accomplished… or it will give you enough time to re-adjust your activities in pro of accomplishing the most resolutions possible before the year is over. And of course! It feels great to strikethrough every completed activity!!!

As soon as the year reaches the month of December, go ahead and pull your list out. Take time to analyze your list, decide if those items that were not completed need to become part of your next list, and just get rid of those that weren’t completed and that do not interest you anymore. So simple… yet so rewarding!!! Once you are done analyzing and making decisions, go ahead and start that fresh new list that will keep you motivated and pretty much in control of your life throughout the following 365 days! Personally, I cap my list to 12 resolutions, one per each month of the year – although it is never my goal to accomplish them at that rate.

Resolution Ideas for 2012

Some simple resolution ideas might be the typical ones: go back to the gym, lose ‘so many’ pounds, take a particular class, spend more time with family, stick to a certain savings plan, etc… and perhaps you might want to include some more challenging ones such as publishing a book, graduating from university, changing jobs, upgrading a certain room of the house, moving, having a kid, starting your own company, TRAVELING to your most desired destination!!!... And more!
