According to the website Nintendo Life, the previously released game “Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D” is now available for download directly from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. It was added to the Nintendo 3DS eShop on this day, March 7 2013. The downloadable version is available for $19.99, which is half off from its original price. This game was originally released on June 28, 2011.
“Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D” was the first “Resident Evil” title to be released on the Nintendo 3DS. At the time it was considered one of the most advanced games on the system, with well-done graphics and gameplay. The gameplay revolves around simply killing hordes of zombies in an attempt to get a high score. There was no actual story with this release, but the game did allow the player to choose between many “Resident Evil” characters, including some villains such as Albert Wesker. The player is also able to upgrade their character with unlockable skills, which the player can tailor to their own playstyle. The game also features online and local co-op so players can defeat the zombie hordes with their friends. The title spans 30+ missions, and each is replayable to allow players to compete for high scores.
