Resident Evil Revelations for the Wii U has been confirmed to include off-TV gameplay utilizing the Wii U's GamePad. This was a feature that many hoped to see in the game. Tsukasa Takenaka, the producer for the Wii U's version of the game, confirmed this in an interview with U.K.'s Official Nintendo Magazine.
The magazine indicates that "the presence of the GamePad will, naturally, make the Wii U version superior." Takenaka emphasized on this statement by saying, "I wouldn't want to be so presumptuous as to say that everyone will enjoy one version more than another, but there are definitely features in the Nintendo Wii U version that are not found on other consoles."
"There's a joke going around in Japan at the moment about using Off TV Play to play your Wii U games on the Bullet Train, as long as you get one of the seats with a power outlet, so we wanted to make sure Bullet Train play was possible with Revelations," jokes Takenaka-san with Official Nintendo Magazine.
Takenaka shared his experience with working with the Wii U during the game's developement. He stated, "I definitely felt that frustration at the start of Wii U development. I wasn't sure what we should leave alone and what we should change. In the end we decided to leave the story as it was in the 3DS version and focus on bringing a fresh gameplay experience to the title."
It is difficult not to expect developers to utilize the off-TV gameplay using the GamePad. This feature is definitely one to boast about on the Wii U. It is good to know that it will be utilized in Resident Evil: Revelations.
