Resident Evil games, in my opinion, have lost focus of what made the series so legendary. With Resident Evil 4 being the last great installment (in my opinion) in the series, Resident Evil has appeared to “jump the shark” in terms of game play elements, story arcs and level design.
Luckily, Nintendo 3DS owners got “Resident Evil: Revelations.” A fantastic game, it truly brings back that “feeling” while playing a Resident Evil game by focusing more on atmospheric situations and survival than over the top set pieces.
Today, I can happily say that Cacom is brining its portable masterpiece to all home consoles and PC. For those worried about how a Nintendo 3DS game will look on higher end machines, Capcom promises high quality HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience. On top of these visual improvements, addition content and improvements to “Raid” mode have also been added.
My only concern comes from the price, as Cacom sees this title as “new,” there for should be sold as such (spoiler: It’s not, and it’s a port). Regardless, Resident Evil: Revelations is set for a release on May 21st 2013. The title will be available for digital download on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.
So who is excited to play a classic, real Resident Evil game on console again? The title was fantastic, only being limited by the 3DS control lay out. Let me know by subscribing to me here and following me on twitter @NicholasGigante.
