Tired of long waits in the airport security line? Now you can claim a spot in the line, without waiting.
Passengers flying in and out of Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport can reserve a spot in the security line. The service is available to passengers on domestic and international flights, except for flights to the United States.
You can subscribe to the free “SecurXpress” service offered by the Montreal Airport twenty-four hours prior to departure by entering your cell phone number, flight information, number of passengers, and first and last name.
You’ll receive a text message with your reserved time. Simply show up at the SecurXpress line at checkpoint “A” without waiting in line.
"The system is free to the general public and a bit like the Disney FASTPASS system," said Francois-Nicola Asselin, spokesman for Aéroports de Montréal.
"It was imagined through a brainstorming session to improve customer service."
SecurXpress is only available at the Montreal Airport but is expected to be adopted by other airports sometime in 2014.
