U.S. researchers report that they are one step closer to developing an AIDS virus. The incurable disease of AIDS, which is started by the HIV virus, has swept the globe since the 1980s and is responsible for over 25 million deaths worldwide.
Researchers claim that they have found key antibodies in the immune system that attack the virus. These antibodies will be used to develop an AIDS vaccine to fight the deadly illness.
This may sound like great news, but many people remain skeptical. The pharmaceutical industry has already exposed it's track record of putting people's lives in danger for monetary gain. There have been dangerous substances found in today's vaccines, and sometimes the vaccine even does more harm than good. Many people have been suspicious of government-backed vaccines, and today's current vaccine news has some people raising an eyebrow at a potential AIDS vaccine.
