Rescuer in North Carolina dies leaving behind animals who need help

A long-time animal rescuer in Wake Forest, N.C., lost her battle with cancer this past weekend.

Her name was Susan Lee, and she knew that this day was coming.

In December, she learned that cancer had invaded her brain, which meant that her life would soon be drawing to a close.

Lee wanted nothing more than to know that the animals she had rescued would be cared for after she was gone, and many of those animals did find homes - but not all.

Shortly before Lee died, she told WRAL News:

“I worry about my mother. Who is going to look after her? I worry about my animals. Who is going to look after them?”

The remaining animals are showcased at a website called "Susan's Sweethearts." Happily, all of the cats have been adopted, but there are several dogs and several horses, who are in need of a new home.

Please take a moment to visit Susan's Sweethearts, and share this information to help all of these animals find a new home.

Thank you.
