Rescued! A down-and-out dog with a big dose of determination gets his Happy Ending

Bobo, a very happy dog, with his new family

No one knows how he ended up there, but Bobo was on the euthanasia list at a local shelter when Paws In The City stepped in to rescue him.  Bobo was heart worm positive and suffering one of the worst cases of distemper anyone at Paws In The City had ever seen.

But Bobo's foster was willing to try to save him, and Bobo was determined to live.  In and out of the hospital for weeks after being rescued, no one knew if he would survive.  The heart worms and distemper took a toll on his immune system, and while recovering he developed ring worm on his nose.  The hair on his muzzle fell out, and his red, sore skin bled for days.  But Paws In The City never gave up on him, and thanks to their love and compassion, Bobo eventually rallied.

But that's only part of the story.  Recovered from his ordeal, Bobo was ready to find a permanent, loving home so his foster mom took him to a weekend adoption event.  That's where an unsuspecting pet lover saw him.  She had absolutely no intention of adopting anyone that day, but Bobo had other plans.  Determined to find that permanent home, he took things into his own hands. He leaped up, knocked her down, crawled in her lap, and refused to leave.  Until she ultimately did exactly what Bobo wanted - she adopted him.

Now Bobo has a home of his own, a great "mom" and two kids who adore him.  Paws In The City volunteer Becky Haisma says "Bobo is one of the most special dogs that has ever come through Paws.  He has found himself a wonderful family that enjoys and appreciates him for just being Bo."

Paws In The City is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization.  They do not have a shelter, but rely on volunteer foster homes to care for the dogs and cats in their program, and caring individuals to donate the funds to rescue and treat dogs like Bobo.  Find out how you can help Paws In The City give more death-row dogs a Happy Ending by visiting their website at www.pawsinthecity.org.
