Rescue un-chains dog for chance at new life

A Golden Retriever mix named Django is thankful for a new start in life, and to be out from behind a shed.

This golden boy lived next to a concerned neighbor who watched the dog lull on a chain all day, tied behind a shed for over a year with little human companionship. But according to his foster mom, "Django is not agressive at all- in fact he seems to love everything!"

After getting him off a chain, Middle TN Golden Retriever Rescue sent him to live with a family that includes young children. "He was totally fine and calm with it all," they report. "Django loves to sit in your lap and be loved on, so he is definitely affectionate."

This upbeat dog has ajusted to daily runs with his foster family and loves being active. He could easily live with another dog and is learning new things about life every day.

Unfortunately however, Django didn't come with a clean bill of health. Like many dogs not on preventatives, he tested positive for heart worms and is undergoing treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery mid to late February-- just in time for Valentine's Day!
