Rescue pets are waiting for your help

Countless rescue pets are waiting for adoption right now. If you are able to open your home to a pet in need, you can find one to help with just the click of your mouse. You can visit online websites to find local rescue pets or you can physically visit your local pound or shelter to meet the pets in person that are in need of your help.

Sadly, shelter/pound pets are still faced with fear. Most U.S. shelters remain high-kill facilities and the chances of a healthy pet leaving the shelter alive can often be slim. Time is ticking for pets at this very moment. In many shelters they have a specific day of the week that they "clean out" the shelter- whether the pet has been there two days or one week, they are not given any additional time. Therefore, timing is everything.

If you are considering pet adoption and you feel you are ready- don't wait! Visit your local shelter today.

When adopting a pet, be sure that everyone in your household is ready to take on the new responsibility. Who will walk the dog? Who will scoop the cats litter-box? Who will drive the pet to and from the veterinarian if they are sick? Is the pet already spayed/neutered?

Rescue pets range from young to old and they have so much love to share. Be sure that you have the same love to share- that you are willing to be patient with your new pets transition to your home and that you are ready to make a lifelong promise to your pet.
