Around 100 dogs were seized Wednesday from an Anderson County rescue, Fox Carolina reported February 19.

Sheila Cole of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office reported around 100 dogs were removed from the Golden S. Rescue on Hamlin Road in Easley. A few weeks ago the rescue owner, Debra Sheridan, was served with a search warrant to check on the dogs in her care.

The owner was arrested and charged with ill treatment towards animals, citing the dogs lacked proper care and feeding. Sheridan was given until February 19 to correct the problem. Today officers made a follow up visit with a new warrant and found no improvement. The dogs were seized and taken to Anderson County PAWS.

More charges against Sheridan are pending.

Acccording to Fox Carolina, Anderson County PAWS will be closed Thursday and Friday to care for the dogs.

To find out how you can help, please check the Facebook: Anderson County PAWS page. While not much has been listed, the shelter is good about keeping the community informed when a large seizure is made.
