Known not only for her TV and movie roles, Emmy Award and Golden Globe nomination, but also for her dedication to animals, Katherine Heigl proudly showed off her rescued Chihuahua at New York City's John F. Kennedy Airport, as documented by the Daily Mail, yesterday.

The popular actress doesn't only talk the talk, but she certainly walks the walk, too: she announced on December 3rd, that she would match any donation, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000 made to her and her mother's Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, leading up to Christmas Day.

The non-profit organization, named after the young animal lover who lost his life in a tragic car accident in 1986, is dedicated to finding solutions to and offering help with several animal welfare-relate issues, including pet overpopulation, animal cruelty and the placement of rescued pets.
