Republicans leave two democratic incumbents unchallenged

Two popular long-term democratic legislators will have no republican opponent in the November 2012 election. For Representative Garnett Coleman (D- 147) and State Senator Rodney Ellis (D -13), no republicans have filed to be on the primary ballot. Ray Hill, a long term gay rights advocate and radio talk show host has filed to run in the democratic primary against Coleman. However, based on his December 8 interview with ABC 13 news, it appears that Mr. Hill’s candidacy is not serious. Coleman’s financial statements on file indicate he has raised about $158,000 for the campaign. To date, Mr. Hill has not reported on fundraising.
