Conservatives, teabaggers, and Republicans are alienating every race in America to the point that their whole dogma is driving the country toward a white, Christian only nation. The latest outrage is a movement to stop a Mosque from being built near ground zero in Manhattan.
It has moved beyond outrage when last week an idiot put forward the notion of not allowing any Mosques to be built in the United States at all. When taken in total, the immigration debate, same-sex marriage, minority rights, affordable health care etc, all add up to one simple conclusion. The conservative movement is pursuing a nation that only recognizes Christian white males; don't think for one moment that women are going to be included in the new conservative America, because they will not.
According to the Bible, women cannot hold positions of power and must always acquiesce to a man's commandments. Interestingly, many Christian women are devout constitutionalists, and often throw out the talking point that they want to return to the founding fathers' time. Thus, they want to return to the era when women did not have the right to vote, much less hold public office or attend college.
Women like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, and Sharron Angle all refer to the founding fathers and the Constitution of 1776 before there were amendments to guarantee that all people had equal rights. That time period was different and women did not work outside of the home, and white male landowners held public office, voted, served on juries and kept women in subservient roles. Palin, Bachmann and Angle show their ignorance and stupidity in wanting to return to a time when women were second-class citizens.
Besides the attack on the "Ground Zero Mosque" issue, Republicans want to revisit and investigate the 14TH Amendment to see who can be a citizen. Their investivation will extend past the citizenship clause and immigrants, when eventually, Republicans will delete the amendment so they do not have to give equal rights to minorities, women, or religions other than Christianity. Republicans have made every effort to favor white people and Christians while holding any other faith or race in contempt.
Conservatives' racist, bigoted campaign is supported by Fox News and its racist, bigots who serve as talking heads for the Aryan Nation, KKK, and violent Christian militias. Daily rants and nonsense diatribes against non-white people inflames the already bigoted people who hang on every word Fox's racist pigs utter. In a Modesto newspaper's letters to the editor, there are recitations of Fox's commentary on the alleged attacks on Christianity and the white race, proving that the vitriol and bigotry Fox promotes is reaching its white audience and their racist mindset.
Republicans, teabaggers, and conservatives in general don't even disguise their racism, and whether it is against Latinos or African-Americans, they are using fear mongering to stir up racists and bigots. Perhaps Republicans haven't received the message that America is changing, and is no longer a white only nation. The population is changing and the once white majority is turning into a brown populace. Republican bigots may have the white vote now, but little by little, they alienate every other race and religion until they will be marginalized as just another extremist, bigoted, bunch of racist thugs.

Ron, the Bible does not say that women cannot hold positions of leadership, nor does it say that they must acquiesce to men. The Bible (some call it Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) contains proven guidelines for living - if you will, a platform to carry one through life. In Christian commentary circles it's generally thought that the mistaken idea that women hold inferior positions to men probably came from men's misinterpretation of what the Apostle Paul wrote in his letters to the Corinthians. The misinterpretation most likely originated due to modern culture's lack of knowledge about ancient cultures.
In Corinth at the time of the early church the community of Christians was having difficulty dealing with some extremely outspoken women who came to worship dressed inappropriately (gaudy clothing, glitzy jewelry, exotic hairstyles), and who were using the worship time as a social opportunity, obviously destroying the spiritual atmosphere of the services. Paul advised that these women show more Christ-like behavior - becoming servants rather than trying to boss folks around and make exhibitions of themselves. He recommended they cover their heads and close their mouths, out of respect for the place they were in, not because he thought they shouldn't be allowed their own voice.
The fact that he chose their husbands to speak for them in the worship setting did not indicate that the wives were not worthy. This was an extension of Paul's idea that as Christ is head of the church, so is the husband the head of the family. The husband follows Christ, and the family follows the husband. Just as it is in the political arena, someone has to be in charge, otherwise chaos ensues.
Also, although a comment on an Examiner article is not the place to go into extensive detail, anyone reading through both the Old and New Testaments can see for him or herself that the Bible contains report after report of women in positions of leadership.
Your (nina's) opinion is just that. Paul said a man was the head of a woman. He said a woman could not pray in front of a man.
Your citation of the "headship" dogma makes my point. Paul said it, God said it and it's nonsense. It's only wishful thinking that women had equal rights in Bible times, Old or New Testament.
The Catholic Church does not allow women the right to preach and most Christian denominations do not allow women to pray in front of or for the congregation. You wish it was different and I understand that. So do I.
But Christians are rigid unless it suits their bigotry and pretense of superiority.
I'm Christian and have attended a MULTITUDE of denomination's services. NEVER have I witnessed a church where women were not allowed to pray in front of or for the congregation.
Stop the lies.
Actually, it was the Democrats and the Unions who fought FOR slavery. Learn your history.
Stop the lies.
Looks like my friends I hung out with in my early years.
It's impossible for you to make a credible case that Republicans are exceptionally hateful when you repeatedly use the demeaning term, "teabaggers." It shows you're full of your own hate -- and an oblivious hypocrite to boot.
