Republicans block unemployment benefits extension for lazy drug addicted breeding hobos- VIDEO

Extending benefits for America’s long-term unemployed has become the norm in what has turned into the highest ongoing unemployment rate since the Great Depression. Nationally the rate has hovered at around 10% and more recently at 9.7%. Usually the passage of unemployment benefits extensions has gone like this; Republicans oppose the extension, then at the last minute the measure is passed. Not this time. This time every Republican in the Senate and one Democrat, Ben Nelson from Nebraska, blocked a vote to extend unemployment benefits. This decision will potentially cut off benefits for 1.2 million Americans.

Because of the financial collapse, many previously held jobs have been, or may be wiped out possibly forever. Companies have gone belly-up or have had to cut back.  In some cases, complete departments have been eliminated, never to return. Make no mistake, this is not your historically predictable recession. Many of the unemployed need to retrain for new jobs, or if lucky, have found temporary work completely out of their fields while waiting for a better fitting job when and if the economy bounces back. The point here is that the unemployed need time. Time for training. Time to adjust to the new economy that has no need for their particular skills. This is nothing less than a total economic shift, and time is everything.

Those affected by long term unemployment may have been hanging onto their home, apartment, car, putting food on the table for themselves and their families with some help from unemployment benefits, while looking for work or possibly training for a new field. In fact, some of the unemployed are seeing their situation as an opportunity to change fields or return to college for a degree.  Again, the factor is time and the unemployment benefits allow them some wiggle-room while working toward their goals.

Ironically, action occured just as unemployment rate eases

Amazingly, it appears, through their words and actions, Republicans are kicking the unemployed and those on assistance when they’re down. Consider the following statements:

Andre Bauer- Republican Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina: “My grandmother was not a highly educated woman but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed. You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that. And so what you’ve got to do is you’ve got to curtail that type of behavior. They don't know any better.”

Sharron Angle- Republican Senator candidate: “What's happened to us, is that we have put in so much entitlement into our government that we really have spoiled our citizenry and said you don't want the jobs that are available."

John Kyle- Republican Senator of Arizona: “It doesn't create new jobs, in fact, if anything, continuing to pay people unemployment compensation is a disincentive for them to seek new work.”

Dean Heller- Republican Congressman of Nevada: “I believe there should be a federal safety net.“ Heller said. But he’s not sure about extending unemployment benefits because he’s concerned about hobos as he asked,” is the government now creating hobos?”

Orrin Hatch- Republican Senator of Utah: "We should not be giving cash to people who basically are just going to blow it on drugs." (Hatch proposed an amendment to the jobs bill earlier this month forcing anyone getting unemployment benefits to undergo drug testing.)

Curiously, this action comes on the heels of recent reports that the job market may be loosening up a bit. Some have said that the move by Republicans was to intentionally stall the economy so that the Democrats will take the blame.

So, if you’re an unemployed, lazy, drug addicted, reproducing hobo, stop attempting to collect the unemployment benefits that either you, your employer, or both, depending on your state, paid into while you were working.  But since you don’t know any better, the Republicans will block your benefits while you spend your days breeding and seeking drugs.

these idiot Republicans don't understand that the millions of unemployed that are working to better their situations are now going to forced into becoming exactley what they are crying about. I am almost at the point of making a sign and standing on a corner. If I can find a free one to beg from these days. they are creating an unbeleavably large poor segment of society. If we all are cut off and can't pay for ANYTHING, how will the economy not collapse. And if that is the Republicans strategy for gaining back the white house and congress, we are all domed. Because they truely are a political party of psychopaths.

  • MALKOUNIS 1 year ago

Republicans, probably the biggest losers in the Congress. I was a Republican for many years, but not now, they have lost touch with the people they used to represent. They don't care about helping Americans as they have their fat paychecks and they don't worry about being unemployed. Hey, you stupid people, quit voting for them. I know I wont be voting for them anytime soon. But, I do support their stance on illegal immigration. We need to clamp down on this.

  • Captain 1 year ago

I'm a captain in the Gulf of Mexico. I have never taken drugs, been lazy or unemployed. I have paid dearly into this system that now will not let me have anything back. I have been collecting unemployment since the the end of august. On Apr 19th I was called back to work & told to report the next monday. On Apr 22nd I was told not to show up because BP has a little oil spill.

I'm conservative. I've paid around 45,000 a year in taxes and lived cheap. I drive a 94 Suburban. I buy my clothing when I find it on sale. After I was laid off last summer I was ill and had to pay what I had in savings to doctors. I'm about to lose my home. $309 a month will feed my family & round out just enough that I can last a few more months till my job will comes back. It will if deep water drilling comes back.

SO-sign the bill or starve my kids. If you want me to go back work, get the drilling back on track so I can. Do nothing and I'll see to it that you're in my position next election! Have a nice

I am not an animal, I am one of the many people who has paid taxes for your salary. This goverment allowed companies to take jobs and send them out of the country. This is why I am unemployed, I have been looking for a job for 6 months and no luck. I put in at least 6 applications a day. HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE PAY FOR THE LIFE YOU HAVE, YOUR CARS, HOUSES, WHAT YOU WEAR AND WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR STOMACH. SO IF WE ARE ANIMALS THAT BREED AND PEOPLE THAT SPEND THEIR MONEY ON DRUGS, THEN HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU HAVE THE THINGS YOU HAVE. Next time think before you open your stupid mouth.

He sounds like a little punk "rich kid with the "small man's desease." He needs his butt kicked from one end of this country to the other. I think the Republicans thought they were going to have a cake walk this November. Many experts probably agreed. Not now. The idiots screwed up big time with all their stupid comments and refusal to do the right thing. These are the same fools who always walk around crying, "What would Jesus do?" Well, I think they all got a lot of explaining to do.

  • Bauer Needed A Better Granny 1 year ago

Little children have compassion for animals, and it sounds as though Andre Bauer was normal at some point in his childhood. But then his grandmother berated him for feeding stray animals. Who knows - maybe she beat him up physically or emotionally any time he showed compassion to animals.

  • Bauer Needed A Better Granny 1 year ago

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Andre Bauer's grandmother had a negative effect on him. Most children naturally have kind hearts until a parent, or grandparent, as in the case of Andre Bauer, teach them to not care for others.

    Dean Heller, you aren't worth 50 cents/year.

  • Republican Campaign Platform #1 1 year ago

Quit feeding the unemployed because they will breed as long as they think they will have plenty of food to feed their offspring, and then we will have to feed and clothe their offspring who will increase the unemployment rate when they become adults and refuse to clean toilets for a living.

Unemployment during the GREAT DEPRESSION was great, and help to the unemployed NON-EXISTANT. Unemployed people named 'Hobos' by people fortunate enough to have jobs or 'inherited family' wealth', traveled the country looking for odd jobs, and meals.

Yes, Dean Heller, you REPUKES are causing unemployed workers to become hungry, homeless, modern-day HOBOS. This time around, you'll generously provide tents?

  • Mad as Hell 1 year ago

The Republicans have plenty of money, they create money for themselves and their party. We are not helpless drug addicted needy children, but with your inability for compassion we will all get there. Most unemployed are not that way by choice and now the job market is being picky and not selecting the unemployed thinking they are damaged goods. Bring on the drug testing but include Capitol Hill in that also.

It means people going hungry. People losing their homes, apartments, and going on welfare. Is this a better solution.

I would laugh at these statements if it were not the fact how serious this is and that these people are the ones we voted in only to disrespect, insult, take everything people have worked for. Why can these get away with such outrageous statements. If anyone I knew spoke about others like this when they are in a position of power they would be fired on the spot. Doesn't apply to them. All these statements I would be using as my campaign statements. These Republicans really think the American people are dumb and won't react.
It is a good thing they underestimate all of us. We will see you in November. That will be the last day you tell me to "let them eat Cake" I will get off my lazy butt, stop using drugs/and breeding that day, take my hobo living large butt down to the voting booth and pull that lever.
