A Republican and a Democrat are working together to co-sponsor a medical marijuana bill in the state of Colorado.
Republican Tom Massey, Colorado State Representative, House District 60 and Democratic Senator Chris Romer are working together to co-sponsor a bill that will clarify regulations on medical marijuana in the State of Colorado.
Now that the citizens of Colorado have voted to legalize medical marijuana many in the state feel that there need to be some regulations on the books.
Massey, a moderate Republican, was asked by the Governor Bill Ritter and Senator Chris Romer to work with them on this legislation. The first draft of the bill is expected in 2 weeks.
"We need to work on how to regulate medical marijuana and licensing, look at what other states have done, and the tone of the bill," said Representative Massey.
When asked if his participation in co-sponsoring this bill indicates his support of medical marijuana, Massey replied, "Its like taxes. Its a fact of life and we need to deal with it."

What we really need to work on is ending prohibition altogether. It's time for US law enforcement and drug cartels and gangs to be removed from their current position as regulators and decision makers when it comes to marijuana and other drugs. They (LE and cartels) all have the same interests at heart: money and power.
It's time for the USA to wise-up, legalize, tax and regulate cannabis the same as alcohol. It's time for the US Government to grow some balls and accept the facts that cannabis is a far safer alternative than booze and that a near-majority of Americans want it legalized for recreational purposes. It's time for Americans to get over their prejudice and "reefer madness" and to support people who choose the safer alternative.
God made us. God made cannabis. It's good for far more than getting high and we're morons if we continue along the path of idiocy we've been on for the past 70 years of prohibition.
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
Can we just plain-and-simple regulate marijuana or decriminalize it? I'm sick of this crap already.
